Nisse Strinning designed the brand-new String Pocket Shelf in 2004 as a miniature version of the String System designed to hold smaller items such as paperback books, smaller plants, and other trinkets. String Pocket is a complete shelving package that invites creativity and personality, enabling you to combine two or three String Pocket shelving packages into one larger shelf. Mix and match different colors and wood options to align with your style and preferences. The neat and practical shelf fits perfectly as an extra shelf in your hallway, a nightstand alternative, or anywhere else you see fit.

Unlike the individual elements of the String System, String Pocket is one complete unit that comes with two 19.7"H wire panels and three shelves that are each 23.6"W x 5.9"D.
The String Shelving System is well known for its distinctive wire panels, first introduced by architects Nisse Strinning and Kajsa Strinning back in 1949 as part of a competition to design a shelf that was affordable, easy to ship, and easy to assemble. In the 1950s and 1960s, String was installed in the UN Headquarters offices in New York.
In 2004, after several decades where String was not in production, the brand took form, designing and developing new features and elements suitable for a modern lifestyle. The relaunch of String resulted in the shelving system being classified as Applied Art under the Copyright Act in 2009, making String a true work of art that offers storage solutions for the home, commercial spaces, retail spaces, and more.
