A closer look at KINTO
A Japanese lifestyle brand with beautiful vases, tumblers, mugs, and more
Just like the ethos of Scandinavian design, we believe that every item you bring into your home should be beautiful and functional, with a thoughtful design behind it.
That’s why we’re intentional about every brand we bring to you, and why we love sharing their stories behind our favorite brands (like Pappelina, Normann Copenhagen, and many other brand stories shared on the blog) so you can see why they mean so much to us.
We hope this adds depth and meaning to the beautiful pieces you see here. They’re so much more than just a material good.
The story behind Japanese brand KINTO
KINTO USA is a “Japanese brand aspiring to create products that enrich your everyday life.”
KINTO is here to remind us to slow down, admire the beauty of nature, savor the simple moments, and “understand the joys of finding things that feel just right in your hands.” KINTO starts by imagining scenes that enrich your daily life, then develops products that are creative and thoughtful.
Isn’t that lovely?
KINTO seeks to find a balance between usability and aesthetics (just like our favorite Scandinavian design brands). Products that are easy to use “comfort[s] all the senses and lead[s] to a growing fondness over time.”
KINTO started in 1972 as a tableware wholesaler based out of Shiga, Japan. Over time, they began to develop their line of products. KINTO products have been exported worldwide for 11 years now, working hard to “deliver products that inspire and give fulfillment with every touch and use.”
Now, let’s inspire you with a closer look at KINTO tumblers, vases, mugs, and more. By the end of this, you’ll want to touch and use at least one piece every single day!
KINTO Vases
Let’s start with KINTO’s gorgeous glass and porcelain bud vases, including designs ready for your propagations.
Made with porcelain, the single-flower SACCO vase comes in 3 options: SACCO Vase Porcelain 01, SACCO Vase Porcelain 02, and SACCO Vase Porcelain 03. Each shape has a playful and organic form that pairs nicely together. Notice the mouths positioned at different angles, creating interesting motion that highlights the lively yet delicate expressions of your flowers or plants. Each vase comes in black, pink, or grey.
The Aqua Culture Vase is designed to help you propagate plants and bring new and fresh greenery into your space. Each hydroponic vase––both the small and large size––comes with a plate and a vase. The plate supports growing leaves such as herbs, bulbs like hyacinth, or even seeds like avocado. If propagating isn’t your thing, simply use it as a flower vase.
The LUNA Vase is a single flower vase that comes in both small and large sizes. Each size comes with a brass plate that gently shines as though it is reflecting the moonlight that inspires the name LUNA. The plate supports the leaves of plants and is suited for the hydroponic growing of succulents. Just like the Aqua Culture Vase, the LUNA’s glass vase can be used on its own to display a small bouquet. The brass will beautifully patinate over time, adding richness and depth anywhere you display it.
KINTO BOTTLIT Collection
The name BOTTLIT is simply inspired by the shape of a classic bottle. Each piece is comfortable to grip and easy to tip. The beautiful glass becomes colored by whatever is within, bringing elegance to your kitchen and table in such a refreshingly minimal way.
Bottle-shaped canisters are perfect for storing dried foods like grains, nuts, and spices. Get the BOTTLIT canister in 150ml, 300ml, and 600ml sizes.
The KINTO BOTTLIT Carafe is the perfect carafe for infused waters and other drinks. It’s nice and slim, making it easy to fit on the door of your fridge with a silicone ring that keeps contents fresh without taking away from the look.
Make your dressings at home and display them with pride with the 130ml and 250ml Dressing Bottle. Just like the carafe, the dressing bottle lid features a silicone ring to keep contents fresh while storing in the fridge, but still oh so beautiful to serve straight from the bottle at the dining table.
KINTO BAUM NEU Canister
Store anything and everything with the BAUM NEU Canister in 800ml, 600ml, and 300ml sizes. Strikingly minimal, these glass canisters are heat-resistant, microwave-safe, and dishwasher-safe. The lids are made with natural wood with an oil finish.
KINTO SCHALE Glass Case
Already a customer favorite, the SCHALE Glass Case in 100x130 and 100x85 sizes has endless uses. Store office supplies, jewelry, cotton balls, or whatever else you fancy. Let the contents of the case remain on display to easily identify what you need to grab.
KINTO Water Bottles
Lightweight, alluring, and compact, the KINTO Water Bottle in 500ml, 480ml, and 300ml sizes makes it easy to stay hydrated through all your adventures. While the design looks like glass, it’s made with high-quality transparent copolyester that’s durable, scratch-resistant, and lightweight. Open the lid with a single twist and enjoy the easy to hold handle that can even be clipped to a bag.
Also made with high-quality copolyester, the 480ml KINTO Workout Bottle is ready to support your active lifestyle, whatever your go-to exercise might be. Open the lid with a half-twist and sip with ease thanks to a narrow spout. Subtle marks on the side help you keep track of how much you’re drinking, and a flexible silicone strap makes it easy to carry around. Remove the top lid and middle cap to wash with ease while appreciating the rounded bottom corners that prevent residue build-up and make washing a breeze.
KINTO Mugs
Just like small waves in the water, KINTO’s Ripple Mug brings a tranquil feel to any moment with a hot drink in hand. Each mug is made by a craftsman on a potter’s wheel. The glazes are beautifully transparent and show a delicate expression. The handles fit like a glove, with rims that feel soft on the mouth––like water itself.
Part of KINTO’s Slow Coffee Style collection, the KINTO SCS-S03 Mug in 320ml and 110ml sizes are designed to help you enjoy a slow and relaxing coffee ritual. Both porcelain mug sizes feature gentle forms, calm tones, and a soothing clay texture.
KINTO Tumblers
We highlighted all of KINTO’s beautifully designed tumblers here, but we can’t help but highlight them again. Just look at them - can you blame us?
The Active Tumbler is ready to go with you on all your adventures. The straw spout is easy to open and comfortable to drink from while on the move. The tumbler’s wide opening makes it easy to put in ice cubes, and since it’s vacuum-insulated, which means it can keep your drinks nice and cold for up to 6 hours.
With durable stainless steel, the Day Off Tumbler is ready for active or relaxing days out of the office. The rounded handle is comfortable to hold, making it perfect for carrying on walks or day trips.
KINTO’s To Go Tumblers (240ml and 360ml) can serve many purposes. The rim of the tumbler is smooth, so you don’t have to drink with the lid on if you’re just chilling at home. These cups can be used for hot or cold drinks and come in a variety of earthy and vibrant colors.
The HIBI tumblers are another favorite KINTO tumbler design. HIBI means “day to day” in Japanese, which inspired the 220ml and 350ml HIBI tumbler sets. Each set comes with 4 tumblers, featuring a slightly narrowing base that naturally fits your fingers and is comfortable to grip.
