Cooee Design founders Catrine Åberg & Henrik Åberg come from a family of celebrated Swedish designers. The family’s iconic paper bin design still sits in room 606 of Arne Jacobsen’s SAS Hotel in Copenhagen.
Cooee Design got its start in 2005 designing a range of jewelry with Plexi material. Ten years later, the Swedish design company introduced ceramics that are now used in homes and commercial spaces around the world.
Cooee still calls Småland home, bringing the world a beautiful collection of minimalist handmade vases including the iconic Ball Vases, plus Trumpet Vases, Drift Vases, Pillar Vases, and more.
We introduced Cooee Design to our collection of modern and minimalist design objects in October 2020. Now, let’s walk through the entire Cooee Design collection of modern vases and trays.
COOEE Trumpet Vases
Cooee’s Trumpet Vases are a new addition to the Cooee Design collection.
With a beautiful neck and rounded bottom similar to a brass trumpet, stems and flowers fall softly towards the vase’s edge for an absolutely stunning look. Like all Cooee vases, the Trumpet Vases have an addictingly soft feel thanks to the handmade and hand-painted design process.

COOEE Drift Vases
The Drift Vase design came from one artist’s interesting perspective on how the nature that surrounds us is shaped by the elements.
'From the major changes through the ice ages to weather's daily impact on a mountain birch and sand on a beach, soft lines and organic forms are created,” says artist and former ballet dancer Anders Pfeffer Gjengedal. “Even a seemingly straight horizon has a slight curve. In our homes, we are surrounded by straight lines and digital surfaces, so a soft shape on an object can be a welcoming and comfortable place to rest our eyes.''
The result is a series of Cooee vases that are such a welcome respite from the straight lines and digital surfaces within the home.

COOEE Ball Vases
You might recognize Cooee’s Ball Vases without ever hearing the Cooee name––they’re truly everywhere.
The Ball Vases were the beginning of the journey for Cooee’s ceramics collection. With multiple sizes and thoughtful colors, there are endless ways to style these iconic vases (with or without flowers/stems).

Since its launch in 2018, Cooee’s Pillar Vases have quickly become a best seller. We love its sculptural expression, lending the round shape from the Ball Vase, but presented on a striking curved base.
