Luna Lamp
Design House Stockholm collaborated with Alexander Lervik on this unique pendant design. The Luna Lamp is special because it doesn't cast any shadows, providing pure unshadowed light wherever you place it. While other globe pendants have a metal or plastic lid to hide the cables and hanging hardware, Luna is made entirely of glass, with an acrylic cross supports the glass globe while letting light shine through it. All of the cables and hanging mechanism are built into one minimal cord.
Block Lamp
The Block Lamp appears to be a light bulb frozen in a block of ice. Launched in the 1990s and designed by Harri Koskinen, the Block Lamp is part of MoMa's permanent collection. ”I had this simple form that I wanted to cast in glass, and got the idea to ’wrap’ something into the glass," explains Harri Koskinen, who came up with the idea during a workshop at the University of Art and Design in Helsinki. "I first tried a couple of snaps glasses, but then the same thing happened like always when I’m in the design process – at a subconscious level I started reducing.”
