Louis Poulsen Wall Sconces
Established in 1874, Louis Poulsen is one of the most iconic modern lighting manufacturers in the world. Born out of the Scandinavian design tradition where form follows function, Louis Poulsen offers a variety of iconic lighting designs, including wall sconces.
The AJ Wall Lamp, part of the AJ family of lights, is regarded as Jacobsen’s most iconic design, first seen in the SAS hotel. The unusual angles and geometric shapes of the AJ Wall Lamp provides functional light for reading or working and an aesthetic that remains modern over 60 years later.
The Yuh Wall Lamp is named after the sound made when you say the word 'you,' which perfectly encompasses the personalized nature of the design. The Yuh Table Lamp can rotate, rise, and lower to create the ambience you desire. The form of the shade is determined geometrically from the movement that it performs on the stem. Danish-Italian design duo GamFratesi designed Yuh for Louis Poulsen in 2017.
Danish architect and designer Arne Jacobsen created the Eklipta Wall/Ceiling light in 1956 to illuminate indoor staircases and outdoor areas. Today, it comes in 3 sizes and is dimmable. We love the trim-layer handblown glass shade that creates a halo of light around the perimeter.
The NJP Lamp series was designed in collaboration with Japanese designer Oki Sato and the Tokyo-based nendo design studio. The flexible positioning of the NJP Wall Lamp makes it ideal for hands-on hobbies like knitting, focused desk work, or even leisurely reading in bed.
The VL38 Wall Lamp was introduced in the late 1930s as the result of a collaboration between Louis Poulsen and Vilhelm Lauritzen while constructing the Radiohuset building in Copenhagen, which was at the time the Danish broadcasting house, and is now the Royal Danish Academy of Music. After World War II, Lauritzen’s VL38 Floor Lamp began to appear in Louis Poulsen catalogs. While the design has been updated for modern times, both the retro look and soft curvy expression remain true to Lauritzen’s original design.
Louis Poulsen's PH series is named by its designer Paul Henningsen, who innovated the lighting world with his iconic three-shade system that provided glare-free yet soft light. The PH has two wall lamp models: The PH 2/1 Wall and the PH 3/2 Wall.
