The Fritz Hansen PK23 Lounge Chair, designed by Poul Kjærholm in 1954, showcases a wide, low profile with a striking split-seat design. Initially a sketch, it was brought to life for an exhibition at the Louisiana Museum of Modern Art and is now in production for the first time. Crafted from laminated veneer shells with a stainless or black powder-coated steel base, the PK23 bridges Kjærholm’s early works with his later minimalist style, making it a collectible piece of Danish design, perfect for both classic and modern interiors.

An iconic name in the Nordic design world, Fritz Hansen is an internationally celebrated interior design brand with a wide range of furniture, lighting, and accessories. Since its founding in Copenhagen in 1872, Fritz Hansen has shaped Danish design as we know it, collaborating with visionaries including Arne Jacobsen, Poul Kjærholm, and Hans J. Wegner. In its first 50 years, Fritz Hansen designed furniture for the Danish Parliament and Supreme Court at Christiansburg Palace, the University Library, and Copenhagen City Hall.

Later on, Fritz Hansen collaborated with contemporary designers including Cecilie Manz and Jaime Hayon. Fritz Hansen's designs are characterized by exceptional craftsmanship, unique design, and the highest quality made to last. Every item in the Fritz Hansen collection feels both timeless and timely, with details that provide both beauty and function.
